Health Data & Interoperability
DHIS2, FHIR, OpenHIE, and the standards machinery: configure and connect systems that talk to each other.
About this course
African health systems don't lack data; they lack data that moves. Master the standards machinery that connects systems: HL7 FHIR, ICD, LOINC, the OpenHIE architecture, and DHIS2 configuration. Work hands-on with the same platforms African ministries already run in production. For HIS officers, informaticists, and data managers.
What you will learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Diagnose fragmentation and trace it to financing and governance
- Place HL7 FHIR, ICD, and LOINC across the interoperability layers
- Map OpenHIE components onto a national health platform
- Configure DHIS2 and turn dashboards into decisions
- Make defensible build-vs-buy and data-sovereignty decisions
Who can apply
For practising health professionals, managers, and officers with relevant experience. Admission is by application: selection weighs your role, your experience, and your ability to complete the mentored, in-country project.
